the specific gravity of satisfaction
Posted on April 10, 2008
I couldn’t help but smile.
Here was a woman with whom I sat to enjoy a sandwich and salad, and who had known me for all of four hours. As I watched her eat I became peculiarly aware of how perfectly content she appeared sitting across from me, giving not a shit for whatever was taking place around her. Aside from the fact that she was as pretty as a picture - wavy blonde hair cascading away from bright blue eyes like spun gold- she made satisfaction look really good. Locked into the experience of an immaculate moment with bread, meat and cheese, and in no hurry to depart. Complete fulfillment is a good look to wear whether there’s a sandwich involved or not.
Life shucks out smiles every once in a while.
