Sretna Nova Godina

Scant little seems auspicious or worthy of comment in the fury of battle, and in that focused, unforgiving light, the dawning of the New Year is just another one of those Things Other People Give A Whit About. For me, New Year’s Eve signifies a preposterously busy night of steaks and lobster tails in the kitchen, watching others get lethally drunk and act the ass, and hailing January 1st with another mug of something caffeinated before a computer screen filled with Times New Roman which, to a brain and pair of eyes that read, write and edit a lot, scarcely resembles a human language at all anymore. I’m tempted to take a week off from the written word, but I know what the consequences of this would be.

I hope to make it to Jefferson House after work to play music with old friends and give the other side of my brain some time on the field. If I do, I’ll make a recording and post a highlight or two. I promise. Happy New Year.
