Time for a Switch
Posted on December 6, 2006
As the weather figuratively and literally solidifies as winter, my consumption of hot fluids is unsurpisingly on the rise. I’m a sturdy man with a passion for good coffee, but I simply cannot drink three gallons of the brew every day. Winter time is tea time for me, and until I can go shopping for the elements of my everyday blend - a brick of black, musty pu-erh and a five-pound bag of restaurant grade jasmine green leaves - I’m teabagging with rosy Irish Breakfast.

That’s not the only switch. In recent months, as I’ve progressively narrowed the focus of this blog to include little else but culinary writing and food photography, I’ve become painfully aware of a tightening sensation in my eyeballs. John Goddard gotta cut loose a lil. The food writing and photography will have its own home at the ever-developing Articles of Mastication. Existing culinary content here will get a stern, editorial eye and a modicum of polish as it’s gradually moved to the other site.
Food is an everyday fact of my personal and professional life, but it’s not the only one.

So now I’ll have two sites to cheer me up all through the winter. You can be sure I will not miss a single word of your magical story-telling sipping my own sencha :)
Gagatka, you’re too kind to my strident prose. I’ll have to invoke some magical storytelling powers to live up to your praise.
